Brian George Ali, 68, of the San Francisco Bay Area, passed away on May 13, 2026.
Born on May 25, 1957, in Buffalo, New York, he was known for his dedication over the past 15+ years to those he served, taking care of their homes and their beloved cats, dogs, and pets.
A lifelong learner, he studied at Indiana University, the Krenov School of Fine Furniture (formerly the College of the Redwoods), and the University of California, Berkeley.
He was best known as a gentle, yet lively soul—an outdoor enthusiast who extended kindness to all humans and species others might overlook, and to the natural world around him.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Ali; his siblings, Jeff Ali and Sara (Ali) Richey; and four nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, the Mono Lake Committee, or the East Bay SPCA. He found joy among the landscapes of Northern California, Eastern Sierra, Mono Lake, and Nepal, which brought him peace and inspiration.
“Be kinder to yourself. And then let your kindness flood the world.”
