Joy I. Allen, age 91, passed away at home peacefully on June 19, 2026, in King City, Oregon.
Joy was born on February 27, 1935, in Independence, Kansas, to her parents Carl and Fern Mason. Joy was the oldest of 7 siblings and her father passed away when she was just 15yrs old. This defined her life and love for caring for family and her strong work ethic, resilience, and determination to always achieve more in life.
She moved with her family to Idaho as a young adult and on April 8, 1967 she married, Robert Allen. Together they built a family centered on love, hard work, perseverance, and support for one another. Joy loved her family and was devoted to always helping and encouraging them to become independent. She also had a long and successful career in accounting management for auto dealerships and was excellent at personal finance. She later moved to Oregon in 1987 to be near family and a new job opportunity. She retired in 2000 and travelled full time for nearly a decade with Robert (Bob) exploring the country and warm southwest during winter.
She was the happiest when surrounded by her family, grandchildren, and friends and knowing they were doing good. She lived a long and full life always caring for her family and others in need. She loved colorful flowers, the excitement of grandchildren, and seeing the beauty of nature.
Joy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Allen; her children, Tina Slogowski, Jason Allen, and Eric Allen; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jana and Pam. She was preceded in death by her siblings Kenny, Mike, Karen, and Carla.
Those who knew Joy will remember her for her unwavering determination, generosity, motherly encouragement, and belief that goals are achieved through persistence and effort. Her example and guidance will continue to inspire future generations to strive for success and never give up on their dreams.
Joy’s legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the values she instilled in them. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We Love you always Mom.
Funeral and memorial service details will be announced at a later date.
