Edward James Rigney, devoted son, father and brother, passed peacefully at Casa De La Luz, Tucson Arizona on May 31, 2021.  He was 83. 

 

Son of the late Edward Timothy Rigney and Rosemary (Gyves) Rigney, Edward held a graduate degree in mathematics from New York University and enjoyed the majority of his life in the five boroughs of New York City.  He also resided in Pasadena CA during his retirement years. 

 

Edward will be fondly remembered for his great love of mathematics, intellectual discourse, and lifelong pursuit to discover the driving forces underlying our physical world and the spiritual universe that surrounds it. 

 

He is survived by his son Justin Rigney of Tucson Arizona, sisters Maureen Cronin, LouAnn Bloomer, Christine Presotto, brother-in-law George Presotto, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be directed to Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School of Brooklyn New York, where Edward spent many years as an active alumnus.
